It's a shame we can't give a 6/5!
This gentleman saved the family vacation (and my wallet...). Here's the long version: my car wouldn't start one evening near Cancale, where we were staying. The breakdown service driver, after trying to find the problem for 30 minutes, towed it away. We were supposed to leave the morning after next for Oléron, which made the repair rather urgent. I called every garage (7) in the area: a minimum two-week wait before they could even look at it; everyone was swamped. The only solution: rent a car to get home to Perpignan (about 1000 km away!!!), then come back to pick up the car and drive it back across France! I nevertheless chose the Renault garage in Cancale, whose woman on the phone seemed a little less inflexible than the others. When I went to retrieve my belongings from the trunk, Mr. Gillet came to see me, and I broke down a bit as I explained our situation. He said he would take a look at the vehicle. As a result, he called me back that same evening at 7:30 p.m. to tell me he had found and fixed the problem and that I could leave the next morning.
I can't thank this gentleman and his wife (the woman who answered the phone) enough; they were so kind, compassionate, and efficient.
