We dropped off our car for a tune-up due to an ignition problem. The mechanic initially quoted us €4,000 for repairs! We agreed, but a few days later the estimate jumped to between €8,000 and €10,000! We then offered to come in person to discuss it. Upon arrival, we discovered that the engine had caught fire because a spark plug had been left outside the cylinder and a fuel line had burst. As a result, we took the vehicle back without the garage taking any responsibility for their mistake! A clear lack of professionalism! Back at our garage, we simply replaced the engine control unit and the three injector wiring harnesses that they had burned, and the engine is running perfectly again! This mechanic is definitely one to avoid! In total, the car was repaired for €450! A far cry from the €8,000 quote!
