Upon returning from vacation, a few kilometers after entering the highway, the engine warning light came on. This was accompanied by a significant loss of power, and the cruise control, speed limiter, and stop-start system deactivated. I experienced these exact symptoms 10 months ago, and at the time, I was diagnosed with an AdBlue problem. Fifteen days prior, the oil change indicator had come on after 21,500 km (whereas I had been advised to change it once a year or every 30,000 km). I let it go, as I hadn't planned on it financially this month, but rather in November. So, I made an appointment (with a three-week wait). I took my vehicle in, and the following afternoon, a technician called to update me. Regarding the engine warning light, he explained that it was solely due to the fact that I hadn't changed the oil soon enough. I find it strange; in one case it's the AdBlue, and in the other it's the oil change. It's even stranger because after driving 250 km with this engine fault on the motorway (250 km without being able to overtake, and losing up to 30 km/h on the inclines), I stopped at a rest area. When I restarted the car, the engine fault had disappeared, along with all the related symptoms. I'm struggling to understand how this is possible if the problem is indeed due to the oil change not being done, whereas I can perfectly understand it being possible for an AdBlue issue. So, if I understand correctly, Citroën can restrict your vehicle's functions and power, thus clearly and deliberately putting the driver in danger if you don't do things the way Citroën wants. I find this extremely serious, and in legal terms, it's called endangering the lives of others, and that's punishable. So, I finally asked the technician for a quote for the oil change, and he quoted me 200 euros. I asked him for time to think about it until the next day. The following morning, I contacted my usual mechanic for a quote on the oil change, and he quoted me 215 euros, whereas normally he's significantly cheaper than Citroën. He sent me the quote by email. I then called the Citroën garage back for an explanation. They hadn't included certain services according to the manufacturer's specifications. If I wanted a service similar to what my usual mechanic would do, it would cost at least 270 euros at Citroën. So I told them I was coming to pick up my car immediately and that I wouldn't have the work done there. Which I did, but when I entered the Oustric garage, I saw a sign stating that for any service costing at least 250 euros, an immediate 50-euro discount would be applied. So I asked the sales advisor in front of me, the same one I'd spoken to on the phone before coming, why she hadn't given me this information, which is, after all, extremely important. Her response: "You asked me for a price, that's all." What a fine display of professionalism, everyone will appreciate that, I'm sure... So I decided to get the oil changed (meanwhile, I came for nothing, thanks for the planet) and asked if they could do it that day. The answer was yes, because the technician had scheduled an appointment the day before (so a three-week wait to run a 30-minute diagnostic scan, but for an oil change that takes at least an hour, it's fine to do it that day). The car would be ready between 4:00 and 4:30 PM. So I arrived around 4:15 PM, and they told me the technician was running late and my car wouldn't be ready before 6:00 PM. Great, but tell me, isn't there something called a phone to warn people??? Not wanting to drive another 30 km (15 km round trip), I stayed put and went for a walk for an hour and a half in the cold. The only good thing about all this was that they washed the outside of the car, but otherwise it was a most unpleasant and even disastrous experience. Everyone makes their own choices, but don't be surprised if you go to the Oustric garage, you've been warned...
