In June 2025, I took my 308 to the garage for a diagnostic check after experiencing various symptoms suggesting a faulty turbo. A few hours later, they called to tell me the diagnostic had been completed and I could pick up my car. Once there, the only thing they told me was, "Your engine is dead," without any explanation or anything else, except for a rough estimate of €12,000 (which I'm still waiting for by email six months later...). No compression tests were done, no fluid levels checked, nothing at all. Having bought the car from a professional a few months earlier, I asked them for a certificate so I could take legal action against the seller and cancel the sale. They categorically refused, only agreeing to give me the fault code sheet (thanks, I already had the same one at home when I used my diagnostic tool). Not wanting to spend €12,000 to replace the engine, I left the vehicle for a while and only used it for short trips. I decided to get a diagnostic check at another garage, and everything became clear. The problem was simply a faulty oil pan gasket, causing an oil leak, which triggered all the warning lights. This meant an oil change, new spark plugs, a compression test, and oil pan repair, totaling €455 at a different, much more reputable local garage than Peugeot Bolbec, which wanted to replace my engine for €12,000 without even providing a diagnostic report.
