A €39 charge for a simple "diagnostic check (CLIP)," without a signed estimate, prior information on the price, a conclusive diagnosis, or any repairs... This is bordering on fraudulent practice.
The invoice states that the service was billed by the hour, without any indication of duration or outcome. Strange.
The problem was ultimately electronic and specific to Seat, therefore unsolvable here.
My car wasn't repaired at this garage; they apparently lacked the technical expertise to do so.
For comparison, another garage, Garage de La Palud, which I recommend, kept my vehicle for a week without charging me, before I went to Seat Brest, who identified and repaired the actual fault.
Charging for a diagnostic scan without prior agreement or added value is a highly questionable practice.
I do not recommend them.
