Very bad experience with Garage du Coteau - Citroën in Marseille. In June 2024, I took my vehicle in after the engine warning light came on. A diagnostic was billed at €200, concluding that the pre-catalytic converter might need replacing, with only the fault codes cleared. Two weeks later, the warning light came back on. I returned to the garage, which confirmed the part needed replacing. I left my vehicle there, but heard nothing for over 10 days. When I called for information, the manager unprofessionally told me he was on vacation, without any prior notice. During this period of immobilization, I incurred taxi and ride-hailing expenses. I finally got the vehicle back with a bill for €1642. At that time: - the right-side mirror was broken (acknowledged responsibility and subsequently replaced), - the oil warning light came on as I was leaving, requiring an immediate oil top-up on the spot, which is abnormal for a vehicle supposedly inspected after repairs. A few weeks later (July 2024), another breakdown occurred during my vacation near Perpignan: - exhaust fumes were escaping from the engine and entering the passenger compartment, a dangerous situation. I took the vehicle to a Citroën garage in Perpignan, which found a leak at the hose clamp related to the previous work on the pre-catalytic converter. Garage du Coteau then agreed to cover part of the cost (€263) and provided a rental car. And later (August 2024), back in Marseille, the problem persisted. I returned to Garage du Coteau, which refused any further work, claiming that the last garage to have worked on the vehicle was in Perpignan. No other Citroën garage in Marseille agreed to take the vehicle back, due to the transfer of responsibility. Despite opening a case with Citroën France, the manager of Garage du Coteau remained unresponsive, sometimes even displaying an aggressive attitude towards the Citroën France representatives who contacted him. As a result, I had to drive for several months with a dangerous defect, waiting for Citroën France to find a solution. Finally, in April 2025, with no solution from Citroën France, I resigned myself to returning to Perpignan at my own expense (hotel, tolls, fuel, lost vacation days). The Citroën garage in Perpignan had to completely dismantle the pre-catalytic converter and reinstall it correctly, confirming that it was an initial assembly defect, the cause of the persistent exhaust leak. The repair was carried out free of charge. - My findings: - Excessive and unnecessary downtime - Lack of communication and professionalism - Charged inspection, but clearly insufficient - Only partial acceptance of responsibility - Refusal to correct a dangerous defect caused by an initial assembly error => I strongly advise against this garage and urge future customers to exercise extreme caution before entrusting their vehicles to them.
