We needed assistance when our car started to get very smoky. Our UK breakdown company arranged for Garage du Ménilot to attend. As it was a Sunday and we’d broken down in a very rural area we expected a long wait. Florian arrived within 40mins, he was excellent. After checking the car was ok he kindly agreed to follow us back to our campsite. Excellent service, thank you again Florian.

The experience with this garage was for me one of the worst things that happened in France. The French partner of our insurance company contacted this garage to tow my car that broke down near Troyes. It was not my choice to work with them. Although we were on vacation, 2000 km from home, stuck in the city of Troyes, it took the garage employees a whole day to diagnose the fault. The car arrived at the garage on Saturday night and on Monday, at 3 pm they were't able to give a diagnosis. The employee who evaluated the car was interrupted from work to be sent to another intervention. It was very difficult to communicate with them and understand what the fault is. Only one employee knows English. The garage manager seemed very annoyed by my insistence on getting information. They do not give documents that they are obliged to give, unless they are asked for (I refer to invoices or computerized reports of the diagnosis). The secretary is absolutely chaotic and give false or incomplete informations about the prices charged. Also, although the assistance contract provides for towing the car for a maximum distance of 100 km, they asked me to pay 10 euros because the distance was exceeded, even though the car was towed 18 km. Because I couldn't organize towing the car at home, I left it at this garage. We were told that for the first 5 days parking is free, after which a fee of 14 euros is charged. Today, when the car was taken over by a towing company, I found out that the price charged for parking for 9 days was 184 euros. This is French-style math: 14 euros × 9 days = 184 euros, not 126. In short, they are to be avoided, unserious, rude, indifferent to the customers' situation and, last but not least, scammers. I will report the behavior of this partner garage to the insurance company. As tourists, the experience with this garage made not want to return to France in the future.

Absolutely amazing!!! We were broken down in France. They collected us in 20 mins and kept up warm in the office whilst fixing our van. Would recommend!

Our Campervan broke down on a Saturday with a broken starter motor. A replacement part was not available until Tuesday. We camped in the van outside the garage for 3 nights.
The Garage staff allowed us to use their facilities and managed our expectations. The van was fixed hours after the part arrived. Thank you

We broke down in France and this garage picked us up. They were prompt and professional. The driver, Florian, was fantastic.
