He's the one who tried to pull a fast one by disconnecting a wire from my VW's heater during an air conditioning recharge! After doing that, he told me the price of the replacement part: 600 euros. I refused because the heater was working perfectly when I drove into his garage. So I smelled a rat. But I was already a customer, so he must have had some "scruples" and offered to manually reset my heater to hot or cold depending on the time of year, since the automatic setting had been disconnected.
He always refused to show me how to do it, and for good reason! Manually resetting the system is impossible: he reconnected the wire and automatically switched the fan to hot or cold depending on the season, and he did this discreetly right in front of me, which aroused my suspicions. When I went to see him to tell him about the deception, he stammered a few barely audible sentences denying it, then went back to working on a vehicle! … At the time, I didn't want to press charges… Food for thought!
