After a simple noise in the steering wheel and an airbag fault, the garage diagnosed it as a €900 airbag replacement and a €2100 steering rack replacement. The €76 diagnostic fee was for taking it to another garage, which revealed it was simply the same problem as in 2001, and the repair cost less than €200. Thanks. I'll never go back.
