Saved Our Trip – Outstanding Service from Yamaha Motorcycles Sohn.
I was riding with three friends from London to the Swiss Alps when disaster struck — my 2004 Yamaha R6 jammed in 3rd gear, refusing to shift down. With over 1,500 miles ahead of us and the trip hanging in the balance, we searched for the nearest Yamaha dealer and found Yamaha Motorcycles Sohn in Strasbourg.
From the moment we arrived, Patrice and his manager went above and beyond. Despite a packed workshop and no appointment, they saw how urgent our situation was and stepped in to help without hesitation.
Patrice carefully inspected my aftermarket rearsets and noticed that a couple of essential washers had dropped out — a subtle issue that many would have missed. He methodically reassembled the gear mechanism, tested the bike himself, and even contacted another dealer along our route to make sure we had backup support if needed. When that dealer declined to help, Patrice simply said, “Bring it back if anything’s still wrong,” with total confidence and professionalism.
What truly blew me away was that he refused to take any payment — even after spending considerable time solving a non-standard, aftermarket issue. In over 30 years of riding, I have dealt with countless dealerships, but I can honestly say Yamaha Motorcycles Sohn stands out as the most genuine, caring, and competent team I have ever encountered.
Thanks to Patrice’s expertise, I have since covered over 1,200 miles without a single issue and am now on my way back to the UK.
